Nick Uhlig is a Bay Area based composer, performer, and educator, and proud graduate of the music program at the University California Santa Cruz. His hobbies include thick fantasy books, board games, hiking, rooting for the Oakland Ballers, and obsessing over music theory when he can't sleep. In addition to being an accomplished Horn player, he has appeared in concert performing percussion and vocal music with a variety of ensembles. He has appeared on recordings by Brian Baumbusch and John Paul Labno, and has had some of his vocal music appear in "another small book of rounds", published by Frog Peak Music. His first album “Live From Santa Cruz” was released in 2021. Nick has been a proud member of the Sacramento Mandarins Drum & Bugle Corps, The Mostly Modern Festival Orchestra, The Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music Student Staff Ensemble, sings with the Peninsulaires Chorus, is a founding member of the Prism Barbershop Chorus, and is currently registered with BMI. His compositional style can best be described as American Neo-Romantic with a strong experimentalist streak.
